An Opportunity for Life Review

Those of us who shared in this summer's 9 week Bible Study on Philippians gained a great deal from our reflections together. However, it is obvious many of you have very busy lives and are unable to meet on such a regular basis for study.

So this autumn we are launching a different sort of opportunity. We shall be studying a book called “The Ten Commandments, Laws of the Heart”, by Joan Chittister.

She addresses such questions as:-

  • “Are the Ten Commandments a set of rules or a way of life?”
  • “What does it mean to love God and neighbour in a world of violence and fear that threatens our lives and our souls?”
We shall be meeting together just once a month to look at each commandment as well as the two great commandments of Jesus Christ.

That means it's a 12 month course, but most of the work will be done between sessions, when we try to live out each commandment with fresh understanding.

Books will be ordered before our first session. Feel free to order, whether you want to join our group, or make this a personal project. There is a list at the back of church.
