Charity for January/February/March 2008Ataxia U.K.The ataxias are life-limiting neurological disorders. People of any age may be affected, from babies to adults. First symptoms are usually loss of balance and slurred speech. Ataxia may then progress until a person is entirely dependent on family and carers.Ataxia UK is the leading UK charity for all people affected by ataxia. For forty years, they have funded groundbreaking medical research into causes and treatments. We help people with ataxia, and their families and friends, by providing services, information and support that are not available anywhere else. We rely entirely on voluntary funding.
